"On Wednesday, May 18, the US Department of Labor issued new regulations regarding the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The final rule goes into effect on December 1, 2016. The webinar will provide an overview of the new regulations that will have the greatest impact on the research enterprise including how this might impact ongoing projects which employ post-doctoral fellows and other professional staff impacted by the new overtime wage threshold set at $913 per week or $47,476 per year with automatic increases scheduled every three years. We will also touch on some of the change management considerations that need to managed as a part of an institution’s implementation strategy.
Topics discussed will be of interest to all levels of administration but will highlight the issues about which senior level administrators should be aware so they can participate in the larger campus conversation.
