2017 North Carolina Chapter Meeting
Welcome to the 2017 North Carolina Chapter Meeting! The meeting will be held Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Benson University Center at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. The North Carolina Chapter was formed in 1997, so we look forward to celebrating our 20th Anniversary with all of you.
We are excited and most honored to announce our Keynote Speaker will be Anthony Atala, MD. Dr. Atala is the Director of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) and the W. Boyce Professor and Chair of Urology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Atala is a practicing surgeon and a researcher in the area of regenerative medicine. His work focuses on growing human cells, tissues and organs.
Dr. Atala has received countless awards and accolades for his research; most recently, he was elected to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in 2016. Also, Dr. Atala received the 2016 Smithsonian Ingenuity Award, and he received the R&D 2016 Innovator of the Year Award for his work with bioprinting. We have planned an outstanding program for you. We will offer concurrent sessions focusing on Pre-Award, Post-Award, Subrecipient Monitoring, Export Control, Regulatory Compliance, Intellectual Property and both National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health Updates, plus more!
