(Even though as I write this, we are hopefully in the middle of Mother Nature’s last hurrah.)
The Board of Directors met in February and had some great decisions. As far as the Treasurer is concerned, I will be incorporating more feedback from all groups during the upcoming budget cycle and beyond. In turn, this is the official ‘heads-up’ for all section, chapter and committee leaders that I will need more information from you all and will have strict deadlines.
One thing I want to do during my term is work to develop a five-year budget plan system. This will enable the Board of Directors to keep looking forward and all the parts of the organization to keep moving SRAI along.
The first draft of the Fiscal Year 2018 budget needs to be completed in June. In turn, this means that solid information for meetings, events and projects for next fiscal year (October 1 – September 30) will be needed by the end of May 2017.
What I need all of SRAI members to do is think of things that you want and start writing these items down. I welcome input from anyone, but specifically from the section and chapter leaders and those appointed to chair committees. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be developing the timeline and templates to assist with this process.
I look forward to working with you.
