2018 Midwest/Southern Section Meeting

April 15 - April 18, 2018
Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch
St. Louis, MO

A message from the Presidents…

Meet us in St. Louis at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch April 15- 18, 2018 for an exciting meeting you won’t want to miss! The Midwest/Southern sections of SRA International welcome you to our 2018 meeting located next to the world’s tallest arch, the centerpiece of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, “Gateway to the West,” which is administered by the National Park Service.  St. Louis, host to the 1904 World’s Fair and Summer Olympics, offers an amazing blend of culture, music, and food.  Come explore new paths, probe new topics, and meet new people overlooking the banks of the mighty Mississippi River and the Gateway Arch!

Next door to the hotel, the local community gathers each morning for free yoga offerings at the Gateway Arch. Other downtown offerings include the Ballpark Village and Busch Stadium, the Old Court House and Kiener Plaza, City Garden, the City Museum, Washington Avenue, America’s Center and Edward Jones Dome, Lumiere Casino, Laclede’s Landing, and the National Blues Museum. Forest Park, home of the World’s Fair from 1904-1950, is home to the Musicians Memorial and Fountain, the St. Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Zoo and to sports and recreation facilities such as the Highlands Golf and Tennis Center.  Local transportation includes a downtown metro, a trolley you can ride all day ($2 adults/$1 children), and Big Shark Bike Rentals.

Our opening reception promises to amaze and enchant the child in each of us as we enjoy full access to all 600,000 square feet of the City Museum while also getting to know our colleagues.  Named one of the “great public spaces” by the Project for Public Spaces, you will want to dress comfortably in jeans and sneakers (closed toed shoes) to get the most out of this event. Explore as much or as little as you like while returning to our private hub for food, drink and fellowship.  We hope you will enjoy the full access to this remarkable facility, which is always a work in progress.

The 2018 Midwest/Southern Section meeting offers three complete certificate programs: Financial Management (FM), Leadership (LD), and Pre-Award (PA). Workshops and concurrent sessions offered in six (6) tracks round out the program, including:

  • Financial and Post-award Administration (FA)
  • Management & Operations (MO)
  • Professional Development (PD)
  • Research Ethics and Compliance (RE)
  • Sponsored Programs, Planning, Development and Deliveries (SP)
  • Sponsors & Agencies (SA)

Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to all the SRA International members, staff, track chairs, and volunteers who have collaborated and worked hard to make this meeting possible.  We want to encourage you, even as you arrive in St. Louis, to look for opportunities to connect with colleagues and to engage with your professional community. We want this to be a powerful meeting for you, and we need you to help us guide research administration into the future!

See you in St. Louis!
