Many research studies require the principal investigator to utilize outside resources; i.e. medical imaging, lab testing, etc. The involvement of outside entities can lead to significant billing compliance issues including violation of the Federal false claims act and can result in residual funds in the research budget. Two members of the SSRI Grants Team traveled to New York City for a regional meeting of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA) International. The Northeast and the Southern Sections teamed up for an outstanding combined Spring Section meeting in New York City! We had over 450 meeting participants and enjoyed being entertained by the “Broadway Boys” at the opening reception. Dominic Esposito and Ellen Zavala organized a fabulous meeting with 10 full and half day workshops, 60 concurrent sessions, 11 Learning Cafes, and 10 Roundtable discussions.
