Most members are of course from North America and Canada, but around 10 percent are members from the rest of the world. We just closed out another successful Section meeting. With our colleagues from the Midwestern Section, we enjoyed a very lucrative meeting in Portland, Oregon. The city greeted us all with a bit of rain, in true Portland style. At the end of the day, more than 300 people joined us for the meeting and more than 50 people earned their certificates!... While in Portland, I plan to meet with Tonya Edvalson, my counter-part for the Western Section, to begin our planning for the April 2-5, 2017 Western/Northeastern Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.The contract with the Hilton Hawaiian Village has been finalized and a fantastic rate of $215 per night was negotiated by SRA for this ocean-front property!!... I have been with SRAI long enough to know that the goal of the organization is to reach beyond the universities, to provide a more diverse educational offering to encompass all research concerns.
