New Opportunities for SRAI Members

We are pleased to present to you two great new opportunities that SRAI is offering to its members. The mission of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA International) is to develop, define and promote international best practices in research management, administration, knowledge transfer and growth of the research enterprise.

This being one of the key drivers identified in the strategic plan of the Society, the membership committee and the Education and Professional Development Committee (EPDC) introduce the invaluable opportunity for SRAI members: The Research Administrators Mobility Program (RAMP) and the Speaker Travel Scholarship.

RAMP

Deadline: Friday, March 30

RAMP provides financial support to SRAI members to participate in short-term placements. The goal of RAMP is to ensure funding for excellent and innovative research administration peer engagement. Opportunities for knowledge exchange through cross-border and cross-sector mobility of research administrators can better prepare SRAI members for current and future societal challenges.

SRAI provides

  • 2 scholarships per year for up to $2,500 per person.

Eligibility/Requirements for participants*

To apply for a scholarship through the RAMP program:

  • The applicant must be a Full SRAI member for the preceding 3 years in good standing.
  • The applicant will be the solely responsible for arranging the stay at a host institution.**
  • Upon receiving the scholarship, an awardee cannot submit again for 3 years.
  • Each applicant can submit one application per year.
  • Within 3 months after the conclusion of the exchange, the awardee must provide a Catalyst article about the exchange program. Funds will be released upon acceptance of publication.

**The applicant is responsible for all the arrangements and documentation needed for the stay. Please communicate directly with the host institution to arrange all details. SRAI is not making match decisions/recommendations.

Speaker Travel Scholarship

Deadline: Friday, February 16

The Speaker Travel Scholarship provides funding support for an SRAI member with senior level experience and an established career (5 or more years in the field of research administration), who has been selected to speak or present at a Partner Society to SRAI.

SRAI provides

  • 2 scholarships per year for up to $2,500 per person.

Eligibility/Requirements for participants*

To apply for a scholarship:

  • To be eligible, you must be a current full member of SRAI with five (5) or more years in the field of research administration and have been invited to speak or present at an SRAI’s Partner Society organization conference. You may not receive this scholarship more than once within five (5) years.
  • The awardee must acknowledge the scholarship in their presentation and use an SRAI provided PowerPoint template.
  • The awardee must share their experience in the SRAI Catalyst upon return, summarizing their presentation, experience and the fact that they received the scholarship to support the presentation.
  • The awardee to provide a copy of their presentation within 30 days upon return.
