Updates from the Annual Meeting Co-chairs

by Silke Blohm on Thursday, February 22, 2018

We are happy to update you that after the SRAI membership voted, the 2018 SRAI Annual Meeting will take place in Orlando, Florida with the original meeting dates of October 27-31.

Despite our efforts to work with the hotel and the Puerto Rico Chapter of SRAI to bring the 51st Annual Meeting to the island, the El Conquistador Hotel is not going to be open and in operable condition to offer us the services and space that we need for our conference in October. We are, though, continuing to work with the Puerto Rico Chapter so that we can bring a bit of Puerto Rican flair to the meeting and focusing on topics resounding the theme of Resilience.

After a careful consideration of the available locations and the membership vote, the meeting was moved to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL. The SRAI Executive Committee had to consider not only a city’s ability to accommodate SRAI’s preferred meeting dates and provide the needed transit and hotel options; but, more importantly, the city’s ability to offer the space and flexibility we require to create a program that will advance your experience and allow our attendees to find and connect with others who share their passion.

We are excited that the 51st SRAI Annual Meeting of SRAI is headed to Florida this year. Come and enjoy one of the most spectacular places on earth with beautiful tropical landscaping, tranquil waterways, and classic art. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is situated on 87 acres of wonder and enchantment, just minutes from Disney World.

This year’s meeting will bring together research administrators from around the world to learn, share, and transform ideas into solutions with more than 150 innovative learning sessions. The Annual Meeting features a full slate of industry, government and subject matter expert speakers, as well as the prestigious Senior Executive Institute, focused specifically on the needs of high-level decision makers.

Join the conversation with your peers, recognized industry experts and leaders, inspired by the most innovative ideas for five days of valuable, relevant, invigorating professional development, education and networking.

We are working together with the track chairs on putting the education program together in the next two months and are expecting to have it online at the beginning of May. Plus, we have a whole lot of surprises planned for you onsite!

Hope to see you in Orlando!
